Desh | Oct 21 2009

So far, ADNEC’s Aloft Hotel in Abu Dhabi has earned itself a reputation for its unique architecture. Now, the fresh inclusion of 560 solar panels across an area of 2,300 square meters on its Car Park will bring it a green fame for sure. WOLF GmbH, a German manufacturer of solar panels, has fabricated these panels for the hotel. Falling in line with the inaugural Etihad Airways Formula One Grand Prix, the Aloft Hotel’s grand opening is scheduled on October 25.

Hotel’s 408 bedrooms, 2 production kitchens, food & beverage outlets, hotel offices and the swimming pools will now rely on the energy harnessed from solar panels for more than 90% of their hot water supply. The annual energy savings are estimated at 870 mega watt-hours.
