BIO(da)TA: Sustainable thematic pavilion for Yeosu Expo 2012
Desh | Nov 14 2009

The Seattle-based firms zero plus and STAVE aspire to raise an eco-awareness for oceanic problems via their proposed Thematic Pavilion for Yeosu Expo 2012. Dubbed as BIO(da)TA, the adaptable pavilion (adjusts to the tidal ebb and flow) will consign researchers and visitors with a chance to interact with the coastal surroundings.

Since it is rooted within the marine settings, it will serve as a perfect destination for researchers to collect data and physical samples for their researches. The unparalleled architecture will employ all the elements of nature as it utilizes the sun, wind, rain, water collection and tidal movement. Just recently, its initial blueprint were awarded with the Citation Award in the ‘Envisioned’ category of the AIA Seattle 2009 Honor Awards.
