Yes, I know that making biofuel from animal fat is illegal in the U.S. However, it is not so in Sweden and hence, stray bunnies are getting a raw deal here. Since the Swedes treat them as a nuisance, Konvex, a subsidiary of the Danish company Daka Biodiesel, is exposing them to hellish torments to produce biofuel for heating purposes.

While shooting, freezing, and reducing them to ashes, the company seeks to keep the city of Stockholm warm. Anyhow, the hunting spree has trimmed down to 3,000 this year when compared to 6,000 in 2008.
Practice faces criticism
Conversely, the Sweden’s Society for the Protection of Wild Rabbits has criticized the practice of killing and incinerating rabbits.
Those who support the culling of rabbits surely think it’s good to use the bodies for a good cause. But it feels like they’re trying to turn the animals into an industry rather than look at the main problem.
Anna Johannesson of the society told Vårt Kungsholmen newspaper.
