Blankets made from recycled plastic bottles for a noble cause
Desh | Oct 10 2009

Tzu Chi Foundation
, known for its contribution toward environmental protection, international relief work and the establishment of the world’s third largest marrow donor registry, has fast developed into a center of recycling. Maintaining it still further, the volunteers at the Taiwanese recycling center are transforming discarded plastic bottles into soft blue polyester blankets.

Recycling has evolved into a venerable practice in this part of the world. You could see people submitting willingly to some most rigorous recycling rules here. Anyhow, the mostly retired volunteers at Tzu Chi fabricated 60,000 blankets while disintegrating plastic into crumbs and later donating it to the survivors of Typhoon Morakot.
