BMW and Toyota plan to release hybrid cars
Desh | Jun 23 2009

As of now, speculation over BMW and Toyota’s releases of their respective sports car and a sedan hybrid don’t seem to end. Still, here are some snapshots of the much-awaited hybrid-cars to pacify the eco-friends who can’t wait. Scheduled to release at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, the BMW 755ih, a hybrid version of the 7-series, uses the 750i’s twin turbo, 4.4-liter V-8 and a small 20 horsepower electric motor. The sedan is supposed to be highly fuel-efficient while reducing the V-8’s fuel consumption by 15 percent.

No prize for guessing that Toyota doesn’t eye an immediate release. The sedan will utilize the FT-HS concept and might go on to revive the Supra as a hybrid; a makeover kind of thing? Using Toyota’s 3.5-liter V-6 and a Synergy hybrid system, it might be able to hit 400 horsepower. That’s truly impressive!
