The 15th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) is taking place at Bella Center in Copenhagen from the 7th to the 18th of December, 2009. As the summit on climate change nears, global leaders and personalities are expressing their views and hopes. On Monday, Tibetan spiritual leader, The Dalai Lama, joined the hot debate and urged the governments to take serious action against climate change and give priority to global interests ahead of domestic concerns. He saidā¦
The elected government, sometimes their number one ... priority is national interest, national economy interest, then global issues are sometimes secondary.

The Tibetan spiritual leader also does his bit for the environment. He told a news conferenceā¦
In my own case I never use bathtub, only shower. Whenever I leave my room I always put off my light. Taking care of the environment ... (is now) part of my life. Taking care of the environment should be part of our daily life.
The 74-year-old Nobel peace prize winner plans to commemorate the 20th anniversary of his Nobel Peace Prize in Australia on Dec. 10. He said that he feels encouraged by December’s climate change conference in Copenhagen.
