Eager's D+ropop is the world's most eco-friendly robot
Desh | Nov 26 2009

Japan’s robot developer Eager has come up with the world’s most eco-friendly robot named D+ropop that is made of recyclable corrugated cardboard. Just recently, it made its debut at the company’s booth at the International Robot Exhibition 2009 (iREX2009).

Weighing just 6kg, the green machine has eight lightweight motors that lend mobility to its upper limbs and head. The cardboard body can be made water-resistant and projects itself as a canvas for graffiti or painting. Eager hopes to sell it around £3000 when it hits the market. As of now, the company prefers to keep mum over any date of release as such.

Cardboard is in a constant state of decomposition. They would have been better off using balsa wood. But balsa wood is way more expensive.
