EarthNet’s Solar Evacuated Tube Collector brings down water heating costs
Desh | Nov 10 2009

On a cloudy day, even the most effective solar water-heaters turn out to be useless. Even when the sun is there, the improper insulation and equally inefficient heat transfer methods incur energy wastage during water heating. Pennsylvania based EarthNet offers ENE-24 Evacuated Tube Solar Collector made from hollow copper to bring down this wastage.

It took EarthNet almost four years to develop the energy-saving contraption. Since it helps you heat water without using much electricity, the Solar Radiance Certification Corporation has approved the product. The total installation may cost you more than $10,000; however, a tax incentive compensates the asking price considerably. More specs here (pdf file).

I think all new houses in the US should be built with solar power, we have become to realiant on foreign oil. In addition, we need to be more concerned with the environment which solar power would do by reducing pollution.
