Monte Fino and Humphreys Yacht Design team offers the ecHo-yacht that focuses on the lowest emissions possible while cruising at a top speed of 12 knots. The yacht design incorporates numerous eco-friendly factors to minimize its running cost and environmental impact.
A single main engine has bow and thrusters to drive the propeller at low speeds. In addition, a secondary wing engine compensates for any failure of the primary one. The design team has worked well to minimize the weight of the cruiser. Moreover, the proposed inclusion of grey-water recycling, waste compaction and first-rate insulation for the hull and the superstructure will bring down the energy requirements for air-conditioning and heating as well.
Hoping to get the first model ready by early 2011, Humphreys Yacht Design will start building it in mid 2010.
