Who wouldn’t want to enjoy lavish comfort in the lap of nature? BIG4 Adelaide Shores Caravan Park could give you just that. Offering innovative and sustainable accommodation, the park is nearing the completion of six Eco Tents that will boost South Australia’s tourism industry. These tents sourced through Eco Structures Australia in a modular kit form come with large window areas to let you experience the natural cooling effect by the fresh breezes. They also come equipped with shades drooping from the roof that are capable of reducing the temperature inside the tents by up to 6 degrees Celsius in summer.
Giving complete attention to the comfort of the visitors, the Eco Tents are furnished with a queen size bed and a double bunk bed, internal light and power sources, table and chairs, storage cabinets, an esky and two shaded decks. The final stages of BIG4 Adelaide Shores Caravan Park project will see the installation of solar panels on the neighboring amenity block. Energy generated by these solar panels will be used to power the Eco Tents. The objective behind these green initiatives is to achieve carbon neutral status.
The organization already utilizes reclaimed water to irrigate its accommodation, golf courses and sports reserves. The new green additions will take its five years Environmental Management Plan to a different level altogether. The organization won an environmental award in 2007 for its work in restoring West Beach’s coastal habitat by reversing the invasion of exotic weeds and revegetating with indigenous plants.
