EC&R builds the world's largest wind energy complex in Texas
Desh | Oct 3 2009

With an installed capacity of 781.5 megawatts (MW) from its 627 wind turbines, the Roscoe Wind Complex in Texas is the world’s largest wind farm. The German company E.ON Climate and Renewables (EC&R) dedicated it to the public this Thursday. Thanks to a sprawling 100,000-acre area it is spread across, the mammoth wind farm would now easily power 230,000 homes in Texas.

The 350 to 415 feet tall turbines at the Roscoe wind farm maintain a 900 feet space. The entire production cost $1 million and 3 years toward its conclusion. Moreover, E.ON has also started construction on its London Array offshore wind project, which will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
