GoodGuide’s new iPhone application targets eco-conscious consumers

The green trend has caught up to an extent that green products are all one looks for while going out to shop. However, locating eco-friendly product amongst the horde of thousand others is a difficult job. Just to simplify things a little for you, here comes GoodGuide, who has just released a new barcode scanning iPhone application. The new application gives the consumers the freedom to find out safe, healthy, and sustainable products right in their palm.

The new barcode scanning iPhone application works by simply scanning product’s barcode and instantly checks detailed ratings for health, environment and social responsibility for more than 50,000 products and companies. Presently the application provides information about personal care and household chemical products, but will very soon expand to include food, toys, electronics, and more. What is even more interesting is the fact that all the desires information is provided without charging a single penny. Occipital’s state-of-the-art RedLaser barcode scanning technology was licensed for this new application.
