Green multi-family dwellings with e-living concepts

Green dwellings are the need as well as the want of today’s world. Clayton Homes, a national, vertically integrated housing company and Empire Construction, which specializes in multi-family renovations and new construction, have joined together to create an e-living concept for multi-family dwellings. There is a great deal of enthusiasm and optimism associated with this partnership, which could reshape a large portion of the multi-family housing industry.

The first green multi-family dwelling built by the two companies will be located at Raintree Apartments in West Knoxville. The modular building with six units in the first phase will incorporate all the e-living concepts, which includes utilizing the green benefits of modular construction and include energy-efficient features inside of them. There is also a provision for a recycling program on these multi-family dwellings. The indoor units built by skilled craftsmen using the precision building method produce less than 2% scrap, which is 50% less waste than site-built construction.
