Minturn Saloon, the popular Vail Valley restaurant, has recently installed solar panels to become the first eatery in Eagle County to be solar powered. The century old building, which came into existence in 1901, got a new solar power system that will bring down the restaurant’s electric bills by at least 25 percent.

Designed and installed by Active Energies of Minturn, the solar power system will pay for itself within a period of two to three years. The project was partially funded with donations from Xcel Energy and Eagle County. This green initiative is sure to take Minturn Saloon’s popularity to another level altogether.
