Radio Log isn’t as green as it poses to be
Desh | Oct 14 2009

Audiophiles will love to hum in sync with the Radio Log designed by Solène le Goff and Christophe Gouache. Having a thin solar panel atop the cylindrical radio, it does not ask for a battery or the wires to spruce it up. Still, it’s not a perfectly green gadget for some obvious reasons given after the jump.

Not-so-green actually:

No use of plastic tries to ensure you get a green gadget, still the fact that it might bring down trees ails me a bit. Mind you, it is made up to 80% from an oak wood log while other electronic parts trim down to a sensible 20%. Anyhow, shouldn’t the designer have used recycled wood instead?

Push-buttons or knobs?

The top left button turns the radio on and controls the volume, while the top right button changes the radio frequencies. Well, if you’re wondering about the one at the bottom with an indent, it is the dynamo.
