SunCore, a California-based company has made a breakthrough with its new solar-powered charger. Dubbed as “NovaCell”, the pocket-sized, go anywhere, solar-charged power unit is capable of charging everything from Mobile Internet Devices to iPods to GPS units to digital still and video cameras. It is based on SunCore’s intelligent battery system that is powered by solar energy.

NovaCell powers various mobile products by taking energy from the sun and pumping it to the gadgets attached to it. It moves from zero to full charge in just over four hours under normal lighting conditions, while in direct sunlight it moves much faster. It is capable of recharging an iPod at least twice before it needs a charge from light or a wall outlet. In situation when NovaCell is empty and some customer portable device needs power, all u need to do is place it in the sun and instantly the solar-generated charge goes directly to the consumer portable device.
