System Design Studio proposes self-sufficient compact house for exurbanites
Desh | Oct 12 2009

Just to mollify the environmentalist in you, the System Design Studio offers a modular housing concept with some unique green features. The stack-able housing units have solar panels to power internal LED based illumination and ensure hot water supply. The inhabitants can utilize rainwater harvesting expressly for sanitary use. Moreover, for exurbanites having minimal access to green spaces, there are dedicated spaces for growing nutritional plants or vegetables.

The stand-alone units have separate sections for storage, bathroom and kitchen. The space left vacant can be converted into a bedroom or a living room as you like it. The idiot-proof lodging employs a rail system and so, makes it perfectly possible to allow vertical and horizontal alterations to the living space.
