Zipcar, Inc., the world’s largest car sharing service, has announced its first Electric Vehicle Pod to be located behind Westminster City Hall, in London. The pod will include an electric version of the Citroen c1 and a plug-in hybrid Toyota Prius. The introduction of these pods, which will help in reducing carbon emissions, depicts the company’s concern for the environment.

Before the official launch, research was done on Zipcar members that suggested that they would be interested in driving a plug-in vehicle. As a result they released the first PHEV pilot program in San Francisco, which was a big hit.466487
